Genetic determinism

I attended a community discussion titled: "Using drugs to create super humans", so the question was what if there were pills that could improve your memory, or critical thinking.
I still don't fully understand the depth of the ethical debate. So here is my question:
If we assume that we can identify personality and bahvioural traits based on a genetic analysis, should we use this information for employment selection/marriage/etc?
For example, if I am an employer and I need a very calm secretary, can I reject applicants because they have the "hyperactive gene"? Is a genetic based selection any different from a psychological test or interview?

I think the problem - that was also pointed out at the discussion - is that it is not scientifically clear what can be contributed to genetics and what to environment. Meaning a candidate for a secretarial position, who has a "hyperactive gene", might be more likely to be non-calm (with an un-known probability), but does not have to be. So as I see it, taking into account your personal genome, offers another basis for lumping people together and making generalizations/assumptions, which is the basis for discrimination as I think you refer to it. Like saying you won't hire a woman for a job of a physicist, since you assume she sucks at math simply because she is a woman, or not hiring a black person, because you assume he/she does/does not do X simply because he/she is black... And so on.

Several years ago , when dolly, the first clone, was officialy created, there was an unanimous rejection of cloning.

Nowadays, we're talking about it naturally, medias spread images and ideas about it frequently: we are reaching a point where it seems OK to clone someone, to use genetic information as a criteria for selection (which is just a hidden form of eugenism)...

Whats happened? Where's the ethic and moral that humanity was loudly claiming?

My idea is that we are manipulated by ourselves, human curiosity has no limits and we are changing our values in accordance with our objectives.
